THE BASICS

What is PULLL?

PULLL, powered by Pelotonia , is a fundraising app that allows you to generate funds for cancer research through exercise activities. PULLL is free for anyone with a smartphone – available in the App Store and Google Play Store – and 100% of every dollar raised in the app is powering life-saving cancer research.

Why was PULLL created?

By introducing a community and a cause to fitness tracking technology, we believe we can change the health outcomes for those with cancer while improving the overall health of PULLL users—ultimately leading to healthier communities everywhere!

How does PULLL work?

It’s easy! Simply download the app from the App Store or Google Play Store – it’s free! With every workout you complete in PULLL, you’ll unlock funds provided by corporate partners – whether that’s running a marathon, walking the dog, doing hot yoga, or your favorite spin class – 100% is funding cancer research. In addition to the funds you unlock, you also earn dollars when your friends and family BOOST your workouts. AND you can also sync PULLL with your Strava or MapMyFitness apps to download your workouts right into PULLL. Like we said – it’s easy.

A BOOST is a pat on the back, a high-five, a peer-to-peer “microdonation” that rewards a workout, a training ride, or a family walk in the park. These incremental donations made by friends, family, or fans to your activity are the secret weapon powering the PULLL community! Every BOOST has the potential to change the world because 100% of every dollar raised through BOOSTS will be donated directly to cancer research.

Where do the fundraising dollars I’m unlocking and earning come from?

When you use PULLL, you’re raising money for cancer research in two ways: exercise activities and BOOSTS.

With every exercise activity you complete in the app, you will unlock dollars that have been generously provided by corporate partners. You can identify the partner that is supporting your workout through the logo displayed on the Start Activity screen. Think your company would be a good partner? Awesome! You also earn funds for cancer research in PULLL through BOOSTS. A BOOST is a pat on the back, a high-five, a peer-to-peer “microdonation” that rewards a workout, a training ride, or a family walk in the park. Every BOOST has the potential to change the world because 100% of every dollar raised through BOOSTS will be donated directly to cancer research. A user should expect to see their most recent BOOST accredited to their next or following workout.

What causes do the funds I generate in PULLL go toward?

100% of every dollar raised in PULLL, whether through BOOSTS or unlocked activities, goes directly to innovative cancer research at OSUCCC .

I would like a tax receipt for BOOSTS I've made to PULLL users. Who should I contact?

We commend you for staying on top of your charitable giving! Please email support@PULLL.org and we'll get a receipt sent to you as soon as possible. Please note that we will send aggregate receipts for cumulative BOOSTS of $250 or more in a calendar year.

I want my company to get involved! Where do I start?

You rock! The PULLL app is quite literally powered by amazing and generous corporate partners that fuel workouts, provide incentives, and support our team. If you’d like to get involved, please reach out to partnership@PULLL.org .

Okay, I have to ask. Why the extra “L”?

There are three “L’s” in PULLL. The third “L” reminds us of the “one more” we strive to achieve. One more activity, one more BOOST, one more breakthrough, one more cure. By combining a community and a cause with fitness tracking technology, we believe the positive outcomes will ultimately lead to happier, healthier communities nationwide. One Goal.

GETTING STARTED

Ready to get moving?

Download the app from the App Store or Google Play Store – it’s free! Create a username and password and you’re in. Simply click ‘Start Activity’ on iOS or the Start Arrow on Android to begin your first workout in PULLL.

Do I need to allow PULLL to send me notifications?

Yes! You’ll want to enable notifications which will alert you of any BOOSTS you receive, milestones you achieve, and updates about the app.

Do I need to allow PULLL to access my location?

Yes! If you plan to use PULLL for any distance-based activity like walking the dog or running a 10K, we’ll need access to your Location Services. You can hide your location data from other users in the ‘Settings’ area of the app. Scroll down to Privacy Settings to learn more.

What workouts can I use PULLL with?

PULLL was made for almost any type of workout - whether that’s running a marathon, walking the dog, hot yoga, or your favorite spin class – you’re earning funds for life-saving cancer research. If you’re completing an outdoor activity, you’ll unlock funds based on distance. If you’re completing an indoor activity, you’ll unlock funds based on time.

Please note that PULLL was not meant to replace traditional step-tracking devices and we do not recommend leaving the app on as a passive daily step counter. (Your battery will thank us!). It’s meant for those impactful, intentional, sometimes sweaty workouts - like fitness classes, bike rides, jogs, walks, and hikes.

Where can I see how much I have raised for cancer research?

On iOS, navigate to the ‘Profile’ icon in the PULLL app. At the top of the page, you’ll see your total funds earned to date. For more detail, click ‘Impact Summary’.

On Android, open the app and view the ‘Your Impact’ section to see your total funds earned to date.

PRIVACY SETTINGS

Can I make my location data and map private to other users?

Yes, you can make your location data private in the ‘Settings’ section of the app. Within the Settings area of the app toggle OFF ‘Share Activity Location’. The app will still use your GPS location to unlock funds for any outdoor or distance-based activity, but those maps will be hidden from the public Activity Feed.

Can I make my profile private?

Yes, you can make your entire PULLL profile private in the ‘Settings’ section of the app. Within the Settings area of the app toggle ON ‘Private Profile’. The app will still use your GPS location to unlock funds for any outdoor or distance activity, but none of your activity will display in the Activity Feed.

How do I share my activities with friends and family on social media, email, and text?

Regardless of your app privacy settings, you can always share your workouts with friends and family outside of the app by tapping ‘Share’ on the activity start screen, the activity finish screen, or on the completed activity in on your profile. Sharing a workout is a great way to ask for a BOOST, encourage a friend to download PULLL, or show off those miles!

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

How do I connect Strava or Map My Fitness?

To link your PULLL account to a Strava or MapMyFitness (MapMyRide, MapMyRun, MapMyWalk), navigate to the ‘Settings’ section of the app and select ‘Connect’. Doing this will automatically import eligible activities from Strava or MayMyFitness to PULLL.

What devices can I use PULLL on?

PULLL is compatible with most Apple and Android mobile smartphones and tablets. At this time, the app is not directly able to integrate with wearable fitness trackers like Apple Watch or FitBit.

Can I edit my activity data?

At this time, it is not possible to edit activities. You can delete any inaccurate activities or contact support@PULLL.org for any special cases.

How do I delete an activity?

Oops! Don’t worry it happens all the time. To delete an inaccurate activity in PULLL, locate the desired activity in your workout feed on your profile. Tap the specific activity to open that activity recap. There are three dots in the top right corner, tap those dots and select ‘Delete’.

My activity is greyed-out on my feed and not counted toward my total funds raised. What can I do?

A greyed-out activity represents an activity that hasn't been able to sync to the server because of a WiFi or connectivity issue. Typically, these workouts will sync as soon as they receive a good signal, but occasionally workouts will get “stuck.”

Once your connectivity has improved, locate the greyed-out activity in your workout feed in your profile. Tap the specific activity to open that activity recap. There are 3 dots in the top right corner, tap those dots and select “Upload”. The activity should look like normal and any funds earned during this session should be reflected in your summary.

PULLL is not recording my distance and I am not earning funds for outdoor activities, but it works for indoor workouts. Why?

When you download and open the PULLL app, you’ll be prompted to enable ‘Location Services’. If you do not enable or later disable ‘Location Services’ in your device settings, we are unable to track your outdoor, distance-based activities. You will only be able to unlock funds for indoor, time-based activities.

I have linked my Strava or MapMyFitness account, but my activities are not appearing in PULLL. Why?

If you are working out in a third-party app and your activities are not displaying or being awarded in PULLL, please confirm your account is not set to ‘Private’ in the third-party app. If your third-party app is designated as ‘Private,’ we do not have access to those workouts, and they will not be recognized in PULLL.

If your account is marked ‘Public’ in the third-party app, you maybe logging a workout activity that is not yet eligible for PULLL. Please contact support@PULLL.org if you continue to experience difficulty.

PULLL FOR PELOTONIA PARTICIPANTS

Participating in Pelotonia? Here are some common questions we get on how to best use PULLL. If you’re not familiar, feel free to learn more about our parent organization Pelotonia .

I’m a Pelotonia rider, virtual rider, or volunteer. Do my PULLL funds count toward my Pelotonia fundraising?

Yes! PULLL users participating in the Pelotonia Ride in Columbus, Ohio will have the opportunity to earn funds towards their fundraising commitment from BOOSTS earned and funds unlocked through activity. All funds raised in PULLL are subject to approval.

For the 2019 ride, funds raised from Saturday, October 6, 2018 through Monday, September 2, 2019 are eligible.

Where do I connect my Rider ID in PULLL?

You can connect your Pelotonia rider, virtual rider or volunteer 6-digit ID directly within your PULLL profile.

  1. Open the PULLL app and navigate to your Impact Summary page
    1. iPhone: Open the PULLL app > Click the ‘Profile’ icon > Click ‘Impact Summary’
    2. Android: Open the PULLL app > Click ‘Visit My Page’
  2. Below your username in the top left corner you should see ‘Rider ID:’ followed by a red circle icon or a 6-digit code.
  3. Click the ‘Rider ID:’ text and input your 6-digit Rider ID.

When is the deadline for using PULLL?

There isn’t one! You can use PULLL 365 days a year – anytime, anywhere. While we adhere to a Pelotonia annual fundraising calendar for issuing ride-specific funds to an account, we encourage you to use the app throughout the year. It’s all funding life-saving cancer research!

This year, the deadline for PULLL activity to count toward your 2019 Pelotonia fundraising commitment is Monday, September 2nd at 11:59 PM (ET).

Where can I see how much I have raised for this year’s Pelotonia?

This feature is coming soon on iOS.

On Android, open the app and view the ‘Your Impact’ section to see your all-time funds and current Pelotonia year funds earned to date. For more detail, including your current year fundraising amount, click ‘Visit My Page.

When will I see PULLL funds issued to my Pelotonia profile?

In 2019, we will issue funds beginning in June through the Pelotonia fundraising deadline of Friday, October 4, 2019. For questions regarding PULLL funds being uploaded, please contact support@PULLL.org .

How will PULLL funds display on my Pelotonia rider profile?

Funds will display as an aggregate total for each upload with the donor’s name being PULLL Donation. For a detailed listing of your activity and BOOSTS, please visit the PULLL app.

Are there private company activations in PULLL?

Companies and groups have the ability to provide funds in PULLL to support a specific group like a corporate office or regional community. Those private funds may have different earn rates than the public environment. If you’re interested in supporting PULLL with funding, please contact partnership@PULLL.org .

My company has a private PULLL activation. How do I join?

If you company or group has a private environment in PULLL, please contact support@PULLL.org . We’ll make sure you’re in and all set!

Can my friends or family connect their PULLL profile to my Pelotonia rider profile?

Unfortunately, there won’t be any fund-sharing allowed among users in PULLL. Only the Pelotonia rider who personally earned these funds will get credit for them in their account.

Can I share funds earned through PULLL with friends or my Peloton who are actively fundraising toward their Pelotonia ride commitment?

Unfortunately, there won’t be any fund-sharing allowed among users in PULLL, or from users in PULLL to other Pelotonia riders. Only the Pelotonia rider who personally earned these funds will get credit for them in their account.

Why can’t I see my Pelotonia ride fundraising total within PULLL?

At this time, you are only able to see Pelotonia ride fundraising information on your Pelotonia profile page.
